Fruiting Rubber Band for Mushroom growing 10pcs | Reusable

Rootlab Fruiting Band

Stops side pinning before it starts. The most common cause of unwanted side pins is a humidity air pocket forming between the colonised block and the bag wall. Once the mycelium finds that moist gap, it fruits there instead of the top – splitting energy, reducing yields, and making harvesting a nightmare.

The Rootlab Fruiting Band fixes this. After cutting your bag for fruiting, slip the band around the top of the mycelium block. It seals off the side gap, redirects the block’s energy to the surface, and keeps your flush growing where it should.

The result is cleaner top growth, bigger mushrooms, more productive flushes, and harvests that are actually straightforward.

Available in small, medium, and large in sets of 10, suited to a wide range of bag formats and top fruiting varieties. Large bands fit blocks between 2.5kg and 4.5kg.

Small bands come in black. Medium and large come in natural rubber yellow. Colours may vary depending on availability.

How to use:

Allow the substrate to colonise fully
Cut the bag and prepare for fruiting
Place the fruiting band snugly around the top edge of the block
Secure the top of the bag with a peg to hold humidity if growing at home/or without peg if you have a humidifier
Mist lightly and regularly until pins form, then stop misting directly over the surface
Remove the peg as mushrooms develop and need room to expand

FAQ

Will a normal rubber band work?

Yes, absolutely. A standard rubber band will do the job as long as it is strong enough and are elastic enough. The advantage of our fruiting bands is that they are more elastic, wider, and grip the bag more snugly.

The issue with most regular rubber bands is that they are either too weak and snap under tension, or do not stretch enough to seat properly. Because they are narrow, they concentrate all the pressure into a single point rather than distributing it evenly across the block. Over time this can damage the colonised substrate inside the bag.

Our bands are designed to hold firmly without causing that kind of stress to the block.
