Description

Manure-based All in One Spawn and substrate-ready mushroom grow bag for colonization and fruiting: Pre-sterilized for mushroom cultivation-now comes with detailed Instruction sheet.

Despite taking great care during processing, it’s possible for some fibers or plastic from the bags to end up on the grains. The grains are also processed alongside other types of grains and may contain pumpkin seeds or other seeds. However, everything is sterilized, so it will not affect your growth.

It is not recommended to buy this product until you have a spore syringe or liquid culture. This product is intended to be inoculated upon arrival.

If you have left the bag for too long, you can rehydrate it with our sterile water syringes, these syringes are also uselful for people inoculating bags with agar wedge and have issues with full colonisation as thry are not adding extra moisture, people who have mistakenly left the bag on heat mat or for people who only have few mls of spore or liquid culture left, they can compensate the rest of liquid using the sterile water.

Unicorn is the only bag in the world that has been tested by Eurofins, a third party lab in Europe and passed the stringent EN 1186, and USFDA 1520 for plastic migration into the substrate (Microplastic). Unicorn PP bags was tested at the highest levels of 121 C for 3.5 hours. No PE bags or other manufacturers’ PP bags have achieved this important food safety criteria. So rest assured you are not getting any microplastics from our kits.

The bags are assured 100% contaminant-free due to their sterilization process of 3 hours at 20 psi in a commercial autoclave. Under certain circumstances, contamination can still occur, which could have occurred while the product was being shipped. In the unlikely event that you see contamination in your bag that may be due to shipping, please send us a photo within 2 weeks of receiving the item for a full refund or replacement.

Your bags are made to order; please allow 2 to 3 days of handling time.
We recommend that the bags are used as soon as possible to minimize the chances of contamination.

There is no need for grain-to-substrate transfer, which often leads to contamination. It essentially removes one of the most contamination-prone steps out of the mushroom growing process, saving a lot of hassle.

Steps

The lower part of the bag consists of grains. Sanitize the injection port, flame the needle until red, let it cool, and then inject the grains through the injection port with 10cc Liquid culture or a completely sterile spore syringe.
Once inoculated, move the bag around without shaking. This helps the liquid to move around the bag and not settle at the bottom.
Keep the bag in a dry and dark spot at around 24°c on average.
Check the bag in one week or two when all the grains are colonized.
Simply take the bag and shake it to mix the substrate and grains together. Be careful not to strain the top of the bag, which has been heat-sealed.
Keep the bag again for a week in a dry and dark spot at 24°c.
Ready to fruit as per your mushroom species- Some are top fruiting, and others are side fruiting.

The recommended time frame for use once received is a maximum of 2 weeks.

FRUITING INSTRUCTIONS

To fruit from the side, just cut an x in the bag when fully colonized (See pictures)
To fruit from the top, just cut the top part of the bag where the seal is. Please leave some space on top to create a reservoir of C02. (See pictures)

Once fully colonized, these bags can be taken out of the mushroom bag and kept in a fruiting chamber.
